      Community Health Fund

The Eden Township Healthcare District is committed to contributing positively to society by investing in programs and services that improve the quality of life and advance the health and well-being of the people of our communities.

In 1998, the District established its Community Health Fund, a permanent endowment fund to create and support programs and services for the health of the community. Since its first grant award in 1999, the District has distributed nearly $3 million in grants to not-for-profit and government agencies serving Hayward, Castro Valley, San Leandro and San Lorenzo residents.

This site provides you with information about our Community Health Fund, our priorities and procedures for applying for a grant. We welcome your questions and encourage your feedback for continued success.

Our Vision
It is the vision of the Eden Township Healthcare District to be a dynamic participant in the creation of healthy communities for our residents.

We believe a healthy community is one in which there is broad awareness of and access to health services; a shared sense of responsibility for health needs; a safe and vibrant environment where people can thrive; a commitment to collaborative programs that maximize resources and impact; a sensitivity to cultural, gender and generational needs; and an ongoing investment in services that improve lives and provide hope to the underserved.
